Life Guard Training

JUNIOR LIFEGUARD TRAINING
An American Red Cross training program which prepares youth to take the Lifeguard Certification course and is a great stepping stone to becoming a trained lifeguard. Participants in this course will learn surveillance techniques, have an introduction to working in aquatics, basic rescue techniques and more. This course does not certify trained lifeguards, but prepares youth to take the full lifeguard course at age 15.  Course participants must be strong swimmers and comfortable going underwater.

LIFEGUARD TRAINING
An America Red Cross certification course that provides the skills and training necessary to obtain a job as a professional lifeguard. Class training includes CPR, AED, and First Aid certification. Please plan to attend all class dates and hours. Make up classes are NOT offered except in extenuating circumstances and by arrangement with the instructor. Passing requirements and number of classroom hours are regulated by the American Red Cross. Paying for and participating in the course does not guarantee certification. Registration deadline is 3/18.

LIFEGUARD INSTRUCTOR TRAINING
This course is for experienced American Red Cross Lifeguards with current certification. This 40+ hour course trains the mature, conscientious lifeguard age 17 and over, to teach American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED and First Aid. Registration deadline is 3/18.

WSI TRAINING
American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor course is designed for strong swimmers who are ready to teach swimming to others. This exciting and fun course covers many topics including: teaching skills, class organization and management, stroke mechanics, hydrodynamic principles, swimming drills, teaching challenges and much more. Participants must be age 16 or older by the final day of the course.
